THE JAGUAR

What a glorious beast. The Jaguar is the third largest feline after the tiger and lion. It is built like a leopard but is usually larger. Its habitat is more like that of the tiger, though. It resides in forested areas and open terrain. It enjoys swimming so is often found in close proximity to water. It is known as a solitary, opportunistic, stalk-and-ambush predator. Its killing method is to bite directly through the skull of prey between the ears to fatally reach the brain. Culturally significant, the jaguar is evident in the mythology of indigenous American cultures like the Maya and Aztecs. Pretty cool cat!
