Not only is the photography magnificent, but the large mammal's ability to swim is quite incredible. Elephants are actually very capable swimmers. They have been known to swim for up to six hours without touching the bottom and can go a distance of thirty miles. They can also reach speeds up to 1.3 mph in the water.
