Janis Joplin

I was just listening to some of her songs and I thought I would research a little bit about her. Janis Joplin was a lead singer of the psychedelic-acid rock band Big Brother and the Holding Company. She was later a part of the Kosmic Blues Band and The Full Tilt Boogie Band. She was also a major attraction to the Woodstock festival. At the peak of her performances, she was given the nicknames "The Queen of Rock and Roll" and "The Queen of Psychedelic Soul." On top of her music career, she also was a talented painter, dancer, and music arranger. It turns out that growing up she was teased because of her acne and nerdy demeanor and was very much an outcast. She was found overdosed on heroin beside her bed. Her living legacy grew to be her infamous psychedelic Porsche.
